From Shell to Shipment
Every Skybrine consignment moves through the same six controlled stages — from raw shell collection to export dispatch — with quality checked at each handoff.
Raw Coconut Shell Collection
Shells are sourced from coastal coconut processing units across the region, collected as a byproduct of copra and coconut product processing rather than grown or harvested specifically for this purpose.
Cleaning & Sizing
Shells are cleaned of residual husk and fibre, then graded by size to ensure even carbonization in the next stage. Inconsistent sizing at this point leads to uneven charcoal quality later, so this step is closely controlled.
Carbonization
Cleaned shells are slow-charred in controlled kilns under limited oxygen, converting raw shell into coconut shell charcoal. This stage sets the fixed carbon and ash baseline that carries through to every downstream product.
Steam Activation
A portion of the charcoal is activated under high-temperature steam, developing the internal pore structure that gives activated carbon its adsorption capacity — measured by iodine value before release for packing.
Briquetting / Biochar Grading
Separately, charcoal is compressed into briquettes for fuel use, while finer fractions are screened and graded as biochar for agricultural and soil applications.
Packing & Export Dispatch
Finished product is packed to buyer specification — 25kg PP bags, jumbo bags, or customized packing — documented, and loaded into 20' or 40' containers for FOB, CIF, or CFR dispatch.
